A Small Sign Indeed

Today, Sanna Rayman at Svenska Dagbladet writes another of her many delightful and insightful comments on the paper’s op-ed blog. This time she comments on the upcoming tennis game in Malmö this weekend, and I think that it deserves to be quoted in toto:

A Small Sign

The News agency TT sent out a message from Malmö where the tennis game of the weekend approaches.

“– There are absolutely no worries for crushed shop windows. It feels almost ridiculous to talk about, the head of the campaign group Olof Holmgren assured a press conference in Malmö.

But a small sign of the agitated mood surrounding the game nonetheless appeared on Wednesday, when the hotel where both the teams are staying received a bomb threat over the phone.”

But of course I don’t insist on talking about it. That would be almost ridiculous.

The translation is mine. Anyone who’s interested in the original post, can read it here.
