Kabbalah versus Atheism 1-0

Faith No More is coming to Israel. They’re supposed to play at Ganei Ha-Taarukhah on September 1. Normally, that would be a highlight in the city’s entertainment calendar, but once again the old saying that timing is everything proves to be true.

Today it was officially announced that none other than Madonna is also coming to Israel in September. This is big news, but not because of her arrival in the country per se — she’s been here on a few occasions over the last years, ever since she discovered the charm of Jewish mysticism. This time, however, she’s not coming for some pilgrimage or other spiritual experience at the Kabbalah Center, but for an actual show.

Faith No More, and not least their Israeli agent, are probably cursing their sense of timing today, since Queen Esther isn’t just going to preform in Tel Aviv on the very same day as Faith No More, but even next door, in Park Ha-Yarkon.

No wonder the boys have lost their faith.

Tel Aviv ought to be big enough for both of them playin the same day considering their diversity. Great oportunity to visit Israel for me anyway.
