Road Rage Revenge?

American Vice President Joe Biden’s visit to Israel is drawing to a close, and this morning he gave a lecture at Tel Aviv University.

In order to bring VP Biden from Jerusalem to Ramat Aviv, they had to close off Highway 1 between the capital and Tel Aviv as well as the Ayalon Highway for all other traffic to let the vice-presidential motorcade pass through. In other words, all of Gush Dan had to come to a grinding halt just because Mr. Biden wouldn’t take a helicopter.

I can only imagine all the juicy curses offered up by tens of thousands of stressed-out commuters stuck in endless traffic jams waiting for the highways to open. Short of actually bombing Israel, I can think of no other measure that could create so much bad-will for America in such a short time as was done this morning.

I wonder if it wasn’t a devious ploy concocted at the Prime Minister’s Office as a revenge for the dinner debacle the other night, when Mr. Biden publicly humiliated Mr. Netanyahu.
